Editor's Note: Hi Sweetoo, we really liked your interesting recipe for preparing homemade blackheads pore strips. We are delighted to inform that your contribution has been selected as Best of Forums and featured here. You can now share your article with others.

    ---------------

    Ingredients:

    1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
    1 tbsp milk

    Method:

    • Mix gelatin & milk in a microwave safe bowl.

    • The mixture should not be dry, if so add another couple drops of milk into it.

    • microwave on high for 10 secs to warm the mixture.

    • Now the mixture has melted down making it much easier to mix & apply.

    • Apply it with the help of a brush wherever u feel your pores could benfit. Before moving to the next step wash your brush, if u don't it will turn into a gluey mess.

    • Let it dry on your face for 10 mins or so..

    • Strip it off after 10 mins, it will came off easily without any pulling sensation & de-gunking your pores.

    U r welcome:cheers
u can use it anywhere u like..

here's another cheap & natural solution for blackheads :

Egg white/ toilet paper mask :

    Ingredients:

    1 egg white ( albumin )

    some toilet papers

    Method:

    • beat/whip the egg white until it become foamy.
    • Make sure your face is already washed then apply egg white with the help of any brush or u can also use your fingers.
    • take some toilet papers & apply it over egg mask then apply some more egg white over paper so that it won't fell off. ( taking care of tissue paper so that it won't break )
    • same way apply where ever you like.
    • leave it until it gets dried completely.
    • Peel it off gently, like any other pore strip.

    Dear Sweetu,
Thank you so much for the two wonderful tips to remove blackheads dear....
I've heard there is white paste like cream which is available in the market for this. Do you know the name of it. And once you remove the blackhead, how do we pamper ourselves not get them again. That is, how do we take care to close those pores?

    Devi.

    Hi devaradhan,

thanks for liking my tips...creams & paste which are available in the market are not very effective in removing blackheads & most of them contain harsh ingredients which strip off the skin's moisture..so I'm not in favor of using them...

if u've deep black heads then u can do one thing..use a mild exfoliator or scrub combined with low potency benzoyl peroxide, the oxygen in BP will help to breakup & clear the blackhead, use it once in every three days & not more than that.

One more thing u can do is after washing your face at night, apply a thin film of aloevera juice over your T-zone, then on that apply another thin film of any potent anti acne cream or gel ( containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide or tea tree essential oil )...this way you are diluting the anti acne cream with aloevera gel, & thus it will not be too harsh on your skin, do this religiously for 1 week & u'll get rid off any type of blackhead..

For after care, use a clay mask to close those opened pores, u can also rub an ice cube over it or use a good toner / astringent. Always remove the dead skin on regular basis using a mild scrub.

however the long lasting solution to blackhead is internal, the way to do it is to balance hormones & purify the blood.

You can also use honey if u don't have aloevera gel but remember to apply a very thin film of it & over that apply a potent anti acne cream or gel.
You could also try removing blackheads yourself, but make sure you are gentle, or you may cause scarring. Steam your face for around ten minutes with a steamer, or by placing your face over a vessel of oiling water if you do not have a steamer. Form a tent with your towel over your head and around the bowl, to trap the steam. This opens and softens pores, and makes the blackheads easier to remove. Then take a wad of cotton in both hands, and use the cotton to gently squeeze out the blackheads.

Make sure the blackheads don't reappear by exfoliating your skin with a face scrub, to get rid of dead skin so they do not block pores. Use it on your nose, or wherever you have blackheads. Scrub the area gently. Do not be too harsh as you may cause further damage. You need to exfoliate your face only twice a week.:thumbsup

Thanks sweetoo for these interesting recipes. I suffer from stubborn blackheads too especially on my nose and cheeks. I have trouble using store bought pore strips as they tend to peel my skin too sometimes. I will definitely try your homemade recipes as they are simple and gentler.

    Thanks :)
