    hi all,
I am 30 weeks pregnant and consulting Dr. pranathi reddy of rainbow hospital Hyderabad. But I am not satisfied with her, she hardly gives 5 minutes time, and I've also heard that rainbow hospital prefers c section, because with that they make more money. I saw reviews of fernandez hospital in other thread and my friend also had delivery in that hospital, and it seems that everybody is satisfied with fernandes as they prefer vaginal delivery and doctors are also more experienced.
So I am confused between these two hospitals.....which one should I choose for my delivery.

    Pridelady,
Choosing the best gynic is exclusively your choice. Choose the best.
Make sure that wherever you go it is associated with neonatal care too.
Fernandez have lot of positive reviews in hyderabad. Though I personally dont have any experience with Fernandez, but few of my friends went delivery there and all are normal deliveries. I had a good experience with Dr.Prananthi Reddy of Rainbow. Mine was normal delivery with 12 hours of pains. They patiently waited for 12 hours, though I urge them for C-sectin due to unbearable pain, but they give lot of support. Not only me but lof of friends too went through Normal delivery there recently too. Normal or C-setion is all depends on the baby position during labour.
The advantage here is it has good neonatal unit as Rainbow is a famous childrens hospital than Mother care. As soon as baby is born, paed will come take care of the medical needs of the baby till you discharge. The keep track of health records, so we can fix to that paediatrician from then on. But cost wise, Rainbow is much coastlier than Fernandez. The difference between C and Normal is pretty less, hardly couple of thousands. Choose whichever is near to your house. Prepare your queries before consulting gynic, and you discuss with her. So that you will be satisfied. But we need to wait for long though we go on appointment time.

My house is near Rainbow, but what to do if doctor is not giving enough time to me as my case is normal, if I ask her diet related questions she tells me to consult a nutritionist in the same hospital.....cant she tell me? I do't think she wants to make a good pregnant patient and doctor relation with normal cases as she is the head. I am thinking of consulting Dr. varalakshmi in rainbow. Do u know if she will fulfil my expectation I mean a good Dr. who cares for her patients and gives enough time to them so that the patient is satisfied.
Can u tell me what r the charges for normal delivery in rainbow.........my friend had normal delivery in fernandez and that cost her around 35k.

My cousin had her delivery in Fernandez hospital and one of my colleague too ..both are normal deliveries i am not sure about charges but both of them were extremely satisfied with the service they got
but normal/c-sec is not in our hands in the last moment whatever is gud for baby and mother will be done by the doctor
even rainbow is reputed hospital i dont think they just opt for c-sec until and unless required
but as you dint like the gyn you are going to may be you can try someone else

    Pridelady,
Gynacologist can't be a nutritionist. If you want in general, probably you just ask her.She takes care of your gynic health and baby inside. Dr.Varalakshmi is also a good doctor. The team is really good there especially Chinmayee,Shruthi,Leela,Varalakshmi are really good doctors. In 2007, it costed me around 60K for normal delivery. But that cost involves 3 days for baby to undergo phototherapy. So the cost would be lessthan 40K incase of normal delivery. Again if you are not satisfied wtih the gynic choose the best in the city.

    Hi Soncha,
I heard that Dr.Sharada Reddy from Jubilee hills is quite friendly and cool doctor. But not sure if she is working there now. CHeck out!! You can also prefer Dr.Anuradha Panda/Shruthi Reddy.
