    Hi Marina,

First of all congrats on ur pregnancy! Btw where are u consulting at present? This is the real trouble i had choosing the hospital. I first confirmed my pregnancy in Ahalia as we regularly used to go there for normal visits. But then im not at all satisfied with their system and co ordination. There is no proper communication and assistance offered there. Im not talking about the docs but plainly about the management only. I then switched over to Lifeline from my third month onwards also for an added reason that it is on the same street of my residence and heard the docs are also gud thro IL and other friends.

And yes i was right. They are systematic and have regular follow ups and give reminders of our appointment too. They have won the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence award too. So definitely they are keeping to their standards i guess. The doc is also gud. She patiently hears to what we say and is very friendly regarding clearing our doubts.

I have opened my file in Corniche too. But Gosh they charge like hell there as our ins card is not eligible for pyts there. They have just increased their rates exhorbitantly. I've still not decided to where i wld go for my delivery yet. But if its pvt hosp then it wld be lifeline for me.

Sorry im not sure of NMC. Hope our other ILs would be of help to you.

    Take care.

Thanks Sharmilla for the wishes and congrats to u to..

Well i am working in a Govt Hospital and following up at the same (just dont want to mention the name as i do not want to negatively publicize it). The doctors are very good but the system is so damn complicated, they ask me to do 100's of things and i am not used to all this. Though the services are free for me but i dont care for money righ now, i just want my appointments to be handled well and that i dont have to run from 1 counter to another. Second prob is my DH cannot be with me for any visits as the hospital is located so far away from city and the appointment timings are not fixed so he will miss every scanning etc.

Regarding the expenses at Corniche, i think my card will cover those but again i dont want thing to be very complicated, eventhough i will surely open a file there as it is best to handle emergenies (if required)

I have also heard good things about Lifeline (specially Dr. Mary & Dr. Mukundan), which doctor are u going to?

    Have a safe delivery.

waiting for more input from others...

    Thanks a bunch!!!!

    Congrats Marina..

As far as my experience concerned, I was very happy with Corniche. The first 5 months, I was consulting Dr.Priya from National Hospital who was excellent. Then I registered at Corniche. My delivery was delayed for a week after the due date. Still Corniche did not go for operation and waited for normal delivery. Thank God, it was normal delivery finally (year 2007). And I really appreciate all the Corniche doctors for all the timely decision they took and handled the case properly. Of course you may find more formalities when compared to private ones. But it was not a problem for me.
Good luck and God bless u.

    Kashly..thanks for your response,

Just would like to know that as i am working straight shifts, will i need to take a day off to see the the doctors in Corniche as in that case, i will prefer to go to any private clinic up till 6 months and then can later on follow up with Corniche.

Also, how are repeat appointments handled in Corniche, do i just need to go on the date of repeat appointment and everythg will be taken care off or do i have to call the medical records department to keep reminding them of the same.

    Any information is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hai Marina

First of all congrats on your pregnancy.

My sister had 2 deliveries in Corniche and some of my cousin also had it there and they were very much fine and systematic. Their way of handling apointments are also great. But also another cousin, who had her first 2 deliveries in corniche, had her 3rd baby in Ahalia and she was very much dissatisfied.

I guess they will adjust your timing if you are working. You can call them and they give you all details.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

I think Lifeline is good hospital compared to others here... Also I hv good opinion with Ahalia pediatrics, but dont know abt this...

Dr. Mary is good in Lifeline, experienced also... Now another new lady dr has also come... She is also well experienced...
Dr. Mary is really busy & really tough to get an appointment...
My experience with NMC is not good... Their system is poor in all the sections though there r good doctors...

    All the best...

    Hi Marina,

I am consulting with Dr.Sajira Bhasi of Lifeline. She seems to be very professional as well as experienced. Normally i take the appt there. Very hard to get i know but then just book it few weeks earlier. Like once u start the ANC on a particular date the doc will let u know when u hv to meet her next which always falls on the same date of the next month until you are 7-8 months and in case of no complications related to ur pregnancy. Therefore at the time of leaving the hosp i book my next appt the same day itself and therefore its hassle free. In case of any prob or necessity for consultation after ur lab tests have been performed they call u from the hosp directly and ask u to visit the doc then there is no appt for such visits u can go as a walk in itself. But then it takes hrs to see the doc then. Normally with appt u have to wait for 1/2 hr or so only by that time they will check ur BP and Wt etc, sometimes it takes an hr too as walk ins will also be allowed in btw. Every month i visit her she gives a short scan to see the fetal development and performs the regular blood and urine tests.

As such im convinced with their whole system, the doc as well as the Management. Hope u have a good experience there if u plan to visit the same hospital.

    Take care.
